Senior Backend Engineer

Base44 is looking for an exceptional Senior Backend Engineer to help build and scale our revolutionary app creation platform. This role requires a skilled engineer who can design and implement robust, scalable backend systems that power our natural language-based application development platform. You'll be responsible for creating high-performance APIs, services, and data systems that enable our users to build sophisticated applications through natural language.

Backend System Development:

Design and implement scalable, high-performance backend services
Create robust APIs that power our application platform
Develop efficient data models and database schemas
Build reliable integration points with external services and APIs
Implement secure authentication and authorization systems

Architecture & Infrastructure:

Contribute to backend architecture decisions and technical direction
Design for scalability, reliability, and performance
Implement efficient caching strategies and performance optimizations
Create monitoring, logging, and observability solutions
Develop automated testing and deployment pipelines

Technical Leadership:

Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements
Evaluate and recommend new technologies and approaches
Contribute to technical documentation and best practices
Participate in code reviews and maintain high code quality standards

Requirements:

8+ years of backend development experience
Strong proficiency in at least one modern backend language (Node.js, Python, Go, etc.)
Deep experience with database systems (SQL and NoSQL)
Expertise in designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices
Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure)
Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
Understanding of security best practices and performance optimization
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
